Drainage is one of the most important elements of outdoor sports facilities and an essential requirement for creating an optimal playing field.

With its expertise in drainage, KOSCO DS provides customized on-site solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of its customers.

Most drainage systems currently used at sports facilities in Korea are aggregate-based. Their drainage performance can vary depending on the degree of aggregate compaction.

Over time, their capacity to absorb and discharge rainwater may decrease, resulting in slower drainage or even the loss of drainage functionality. When defects occur, this can cause considerable inconvenience to users due to high repair costs and lengthy construction periods.

Drainage systems for sports fields must prioritize rapid drainage, the prompt resumption of play after rain, and the prevention of ground subsidence. An appropriate system must therefore be selected according to the intended use and site conditions.

If construction proceeds without a drainage system suited to the site, the ground may reach saturation during rainfall, causing water to accumulate and preventing games from proceeding.

It is therefore essential during the design stage to carefully review regional weather conditions, including expected rainfall.

Having flame-retardant properties
Artificial turf has flame-retardant properties, and the underlying materials must also provide flame-retardant performance. The KDS drainage system is flame-retardant, helping to enhance the overall fire safety of the sports facility.

Economic feasibility (recycling)
Costs can be reduced by 60% or more compared with conventional construction methods.
When artificial turf reaches the end of its service life and requires replacement, conventional products must be removed and discarded. In contrast, our product can be recovered and reused.
We have an extensive track record of reuse, including the relocation of sports fields and the reinstallation of the product during artificial turf replacement projects.

High durability
With conventional drainage methods, improvement work or replacement of drainage materials may be required after extended use. In contrast, KDS drainage blocks have a proven track record of more than 15 years in the field, with numerous installations remaining in service for over 15 years.
